In reality, how realistic is it for water to be carried thousands of kilometres across mountains, plains, plateaus, and everywhere in between? It would cost thousands of dollars, yet provide thousands of jobs. If you think otherwise, tell that to Canadian infrastructure. They rely on pipelines to carry gasoline, water, and oil.
It was discussed today within the General Assembly whether or not it was realistic to pump water through kilometres of pipelines to countries in need. It was assured that this would only be a temporary solution, as countries do not want to rely upon others for permanent support. The committee still remains unresolved on the matter, but is making progress regarding funding, shipping of water, and who will receive the support.
